High School
At Acacia International School, our High School program offers a rigorous American College Preparatory curriculum, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses, designed to challenge and inspire students. Within our vibrant international community, learners are encouraged to think critically, lead with integrity, and strive for academic excellence. This holistic approach prepares students not only for admission to top universities but also for meaningful, purposeful careers and lifelong learning.
Curriculum Overview
At Acacia, students gain the best of both worlds: a strong academic foundation in Grades 9–10 through the IGCSEs, followed by the full American High School Diploma in Grades 11–12, complete with AP courses and a wide range of electives. This pathway combines international rigor with the flexibility and global recognition of a US-based education, preparing students for top universities worldwide.
For specific content for our high school (Grades 9 -12), see our Coursebook here.
In Grades 9 and 10, students prepare for the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) with final exams in May.
In addition to the IGCSE subjects, students take classes in Bible, Physical Education and Service Project where they are challenged to serve Christ through leadership, serving each other, serving the local and global community and caring for the environment.
Spiritual Life
Over the course of High School at Acacia, students are encouraged to take more ownership of their faith and develop servant leadership skills. All students are expected to participate in community service as part of their graduation requirements and some opportunities for service, including rural residencies, are provided by the school.
High school students are encouraged to take on a greater role in the running of the chapel programme at Acacia, with opportunities for selected students to prepare messages, lead worship, lead small group discussions and mentor other students.
The high school Bible curriculum, which contains units on hermeneutics, ethics, worldviews, and apologetics among others, is designed to equip students to study the Bible faithfully, navigate the prevailing culture and share their faith with others throughout their lives.
